Eric and I were very excited to give Anderson his "big" present on Christmas- an airport set complete with building, planes, trams, security trucks etc. Unfortunately once we opened it we realized it was super cheap and junky and would be broken within minutes. We decided to return it and let Anderson pick out his own toy. No amount of steering him towards better made toys worked, because he was devoted to a play cargo plane that he'd spotted. We got him what he wanted and promptly put it together when we got home. Unfortunately it turned out to be about the same quality as the airport set, and quickly fell apart. We don't know how it happened, but it looks as though the plane crash landed on our stairs! We have lovingly started referring to it as "the wreckage" and haven't bothered to clean it up. It's a silly little joke to us now, so I think we'll leave it. I'm sure Anderson and Emery will find it entertaining again one of these days even though it is broken- they can make a toy out of pretty much anything!
Why are kids toys so cheaply made?! I now totally get why some parents only buy their children wood toys- at least those ones won't break after an hours worth of play!
