Today was one of those days we hope we never forget. Nothing spectacular happened, but it was a day full of little moments of joy that has left us feeling a little bit sad because it's over. The kids are at the most wonderful age. They say the sweetest things out of the blue, are curious about everything, and are really starting to understand certain things about the world. They give millions of hugs, and would prefer to be in our arms versus anywhere else in the world. They play pretend with each other- usually a game only they know the rules to, and while Emery entertains herself during play by singing, Anderson concentrates 100% on whatever task he is working on at the time.
We got a slow start out of the house this morning and so we ate a late breakfast at a popular place nearby. We all enjoyed our meals and were so stuffed that we weren't even that hungry when dinnertime rolled around!
Somehow we were successful today at getting the kids down for a nap (as opposed to every other day on this trip so far), so the whole family got a nice afternoon snooze in! Once we were all awake we packed up and walked over to the beach. We flew two kites today, drank pina coladas (even the kids enjoyed a non-alcoholic treat!) played at the splash pad, and watched our kids play in the sand contentedly for quite a long time. We LOVE these moments, but dang they are so hard too! Before we know it these two little wonders aren't going to be so little anymore! Waaaaa....
After dinner back at the house we went back over to one of the little villages we visited earlier in the week and walked around for bit before settling in to listen to some fantastic live music. The kids were a little tired, but instead of being crabby they were wanting to snuggle which was fine by us! We had just learned about Steve Job's passing, so we were wanting to hold on close to them anyway.
When the music was over we drove back home and the kids went quietly to bed. Last day of vacation tomorrow :(

Sounds just about perfect honey! May I say that wonderful days are not only when your children are small, but rather your whole life with them! Love you, MD
What a wonderful day! I know what you mean about those moments. I am glad that you guys had a great time.
