Today being our last day at the beach, I thought we could spend our usual morning outing looking for some cute souvenir for the kids. After going to three different places (holy moly- who buys all that ugly crap?!) we finally found some semi-decent t-shirts for the kids. By then we had worked up an appetite so we enjoyed one last basket of fried seafood goodness.
Pretty much as soon as we got back to the house the kids were ready for their naps, so we had quiet time until almost 3:00 pm when we finally decided we needed to get moving or else we were going to miss out all together on one last trip to the beach! Emery is so funny- some days she skips her nap all together, and then some days she takes epic three hour long naps! Today was a long nap day.
The ocean was really choppy and a bit violent today (crazy considering our first day here it was like glass- not a wave in sight!) so we spent most of the time chilling out on the sand reading and watching the kids play. There was a nice family next to us with a five year old little girl who had a great time playing with the kids. I think the little girl reminded the kids of Amelia, so they had a blast following her around and being silly with her. Emery was being so silly- whenever the little girl would go back to her family Emery would ask me "Where did that lady go?" I kept having to explain to her that she wasn't a lady- she was a little girl! I don't even want to know what she thinks I am if a five year old is a lady!
Once the sun started to go down we decided to live it up for our last meal and took the kids to a nicer restaurant for a traditional steamer pot! We had crab and shrimp and the kids had pizza haha. The food was yummy and the kids did pretty good, even though Anderson definitely got tired towards the end. Funny story: their meal came with two oreo cookies so we gave one to each of them. Anderson refused to eat his, so I ate it- which of course made him cryyyyyy for his cookie! We left the restaurant with a toddler screaming "I want my cookie!" so I told him he could have one when we got back to the house. As we were walking up the steps to our place I told him I was sorry I ate his cookie and he said, "Yeah, get your own." I don't know why I thought this was so funny but I laughed so hard that it made him laugh so luckily our day ended on a good note- him getting his cookie and me getting a good memory :)
