Pray for Rain!

We need rain reeeeaaaaalllllyyy badly here in Texas. There are wildfires all over the place, and hundreds of homes have been destroyed nearby. A friend of ours got a 5 minute evacuation notice on Sunday and wasn't allowed back into her neighborhood to see if she still had a house until today. Thankfully her house was spared, but many of her neighbors weren't as fortunate. We had crazy winds here this past weekend, and coupled with ultra dry conditions it was a recipe for fire. There isn't any rain in the 10 day forecast, so I'm ready to get out there in my backyard and do a rain dance! This is crazy.

Besides the constant fear of fire (we made a list of things we would take if we found ourselves in a similar circumstance) we had a really nice weekend. Yesterday we all went over to the Falcao's for a yummy labor day dinner. The kids got pretty crazy towards the end (overly tired, I'm guessing) but it was great food and great company.

We have had something like 79 days in the triple digits here in Austin this year (so far ugh) but thankfully I think Fall is starting to peek around the corner. Today was a beautiful day and this morning even had a hint of a chill!!! :) I took advantage of the early morning coolness to take the kids to the park. We had a really nice time, and it was great to actually participate in their play with them, as opposed to just sitting on a bench sweating to death while they run around. :)

Unfortunately more 100 degree days are in the forecast, but Fall IS coming (along with rain, hopefully...)!
