First Tooth for Anderson!

This guy has waited patiently for almost three years to finally catch up to his sister and lose a tooth! Emery has now lost 9 or 10 of them, so it's been a LONG wait for our sweet boy! He was SO excited to finally join the club :)

Food & Wine Festival

A few weekends ago Eric and I got to go to the Austin Food & Wine Festival. Some carefree fun with my best friend was just what I needed! I've really been feeling the impact of losing my dad, and so there's nothing better than a weekend filled with good food, good drinks, good people watching and time with Eric to make me feel better.

Renaissance Festival

A few weekends ago I took Emery to the Renaissance Festival while Eric took Anderson to the Moto GP race. I can't speak for the boys, but the girls had a blast! Emery totally eats up all the fairy lore, costumes, food etc. I LOVE that she got dressed up as Robin Hood- especially because most of the other little girls there were dressed as princesses :) She is awesome!

Yellow Belts!

Anderson and Emery have been taking taekwondo since the beginning of the school year and are really loving it. They are in a leadership program, and I am so pleased with the lessons they are learning! Martial arts, yes- but also honor, respect, courage, self-esteem etc. It's great!

They tested for their yellow belts before their birthday. For their birthday gift we gave them the coveted black leader uniforms as well as all sorts of equipment. Hopefully they will stick with it!

8th Birthday!

As hard as it is to believe, Anderson and Emery turned 8 today! We started the day with the traditional cake for breakfast and a few presents from mom and dad. :)

The kids decided last minute they wanted to have a roller skating party, and the best day to have it was on their actual birthday. I was definitely worried we wouldn't have a good turnout because it was a school night, but boy was I wrong! I guess people liked not giving up precious weekend time for another birthday party! We had over 90 people attend- it was like a small wedding haha! The kids had an amazing time and really felt special that so many people showed up to help them celebrate. It was a great night!

How are my babies 8?! They are such incredible little people. We feel so lucky to be their parents, and are so proud of the amazing humans they are becoming.
